I am Carly Burke, a jewelry artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. As a student at Savannah College of Art and Design majoring in Metal and Jewelry Design, I learned the fundamentals of wearable art.
With more than 10 years experience in designing and making jewelry, I began my handmade jewelry business in 2009. At that point, I knew how to make jewelry, but I knew nothing about how to operate a business; pricing, inventory, product photography, and marketing were things I had to learn.
I dedicate my blog to sharing my journey through the world of handcrafting a business. Here I hope to share things that I have found helpful, what inspires me, the crazy things that I collect, my creative projects and little glimpses into my life as a full time artisan.
I post three times a week, and I invite you to follow along as I walk this creative path I have chosen.
