Floyd Holiday Market

Many people are gearing up to feed the economy this weekend with Christmas shopping!  Shopping options are seemingly endless, and what to buy for that special person is always a question.  And something that many of you may or may not consider is where is all this stuff coming from that you are purchasing.  I encourage each of you to stop and think for a moment about what you are buying for your loved ones.  Who made this product?  Where do they live?  And how are they being paid for the hard work that went into making this item?

This weekend in my community Artisans will gather at the Floyd Community Market Pavilion in Downtown Floyd, VA, to offer beautifully handcrafted items made in or around Floyd County, VA.  Supporting your local artisans is supporting your local economy and guaranteeing you a unique and quality gift for yourself or others.   Handmade items tell the person that you are buying for that you actually put a little extra thought and care into their gift.  Remember when you give a gift, that person will think of you each time they look at, touch, or use that item.  So do your part this buying season to make that item something that they will love and cherish as much as they love and cherish you.  Oh, and don’t forget to pick up something special for yourself!  You deserve it and you have fabulous taste!  🙂  (You will find days and times below in the slide show.)

About Mountain Light Jewelry

My name is Carly Burke and I am a jewelry artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. I turned my hobby into a business September 2009 and have enjoyed using mostly copper and argentium silver wire and semi precious stones to create unique wearable art. I have also appreciated the challenge of jewelry photography, marketing, selling and learning to be a salesman.
